The kids truly love their Elf on the Shelf friend, Elfie. He returns each year at the start of the Christmas season and watches carefully, reporting good and not so good behavior to Santa each night. He also usually gets up to some sort of shenanigans and the kids delight in finding where he can be found when they wake each morning.
