A Visit to Haugesund

We are always happy to visit Haugesund--some of our dearest friends live there and it also provides an opportunity for us to visit with Farfar at this gravesite. This weekend we had the chance to visit our friends, Martin and Christine and their four children.  They recently built a beautiful home out on the island near where John grew up.  We spent the night and stayed up til all hours talking once the kids had all gone to bed.  It is so nice to stay over with friends and have that long, uninterrupted time together, you don't get the same quality visit during a two hour dinner. The next day we visited Farfar and took some winter flowers to his grave. I am always touched by how much being there impacts our kids.  They truly miss him and I think they really feel his presence, especially there.  We know he is watching over us.
