Trondheim Weekend Getaway--The Getting There

In mid-December John's sister, Svanhild was so gracious to offer to take our kids for the weekend.  I could hardly believe this was really happening, we have NEVER in the seven years we have had children have both been away together overnight without the children.  It is crazy to think about.  Living far away from family this whole time never provided overnight sleeping options, I suppose we could have paid a sitter, but never did. And the reality is, more often than not, we really just want to be together the four of us.  We genuinely enjoy time with our kids and like to take adventures as a family.  It is however, both good and necessary that we make time for just the two of us as well.  And so, Friday afternoon we picked the kids up early from school, dropped them off at Svanhild's and headed to the airport.  Once we got there, we found out that the flight had been cancelled.  The good news was that we could be re-routed through Oslo on another flight and would arrive in Trondheim just a few hours later than originally scheduled.  No worries, we had no where to really be and no one else to worry about.  So looking forward to a weekend away with this guy...

Waiting for our flight at Oslo airport, cute terminal window.
LOVE him
And...down the hall from baggage claim in Trondheim
Airport was Starbucks!  Hip hooray!
