From the cathedral we crossed the bridge over to this area called, Bakklandet. It is this very cool, old area of Trondheim filled with colorful buildings, art galleries, funky shops, restaurants, and there is this very cool bike lift. It is the first and only of it's kind in the world. You stay on your bike and put one foot on this pedal and it takes you up the very steep hillside on your bike. So cool. This town is progressive, artsy, hip, environmental, and somewhere both John and I would love to live. He has had several projects with the Health Care Registry here in Trondheim and keeps saying we should move here--probably won't happen any time soon, but who knows what the future could bring?
