Ava's First Day of Second Grade

With the rule that you have to be 5 by September 1st to start Kindergarten in the US, and having Ava do two years of Kindergarten because she missed the cutoff, we were not sure what would we do once we moved here.  After talking with the school and friends, we decided that we would put her in Andre Klasse (2nd grade here) so that she would be with her peers and start school in the age group that she should be with in Norway.  Although she does not have the language piece, she is ahead of where other kids are at this point in terms of reading and writing and the Principal and teachers seem to think she will do just fine.  So Ava started Second Grade-she was so excited to go that morning.  I wondered how her day was going the whole day and looked forward to hearing all about it that afternoon.
