After we decided that we were in fact moving to Norway, the reality of moving our life set in and the biggest obstacle was what we would do with the house. The market in Atlanta had been terrible for years. We knew there was no way we could sell our house for what we owed based on what recent things had sold for in our neighborhood. We decided that we would go the rental option, hoping to rent the house for 2+ years and see if property values increase during that time. I knew of an acquaintance that as looking to rent a house in our neighborhood, we met with her multiple times and it seemed that everything was in place. All the while, friends of mine that knew this particular woman better than I did, told me "be careful, she's a flake." Sure enough, after a 2 year lease was signed and we thought it was a done deal, she decided they were going to look to purchase a house instead of renting and pulled out. Awesome! We hadn't even left the state yet and things were already complicated. And so, new plan. Guess we need to try and sell the house.
