John came back from Norway and was put to work almost the entire time-but such is life when you are trying to pack up almost 10 years of living into a 20 foot shipping container. We got it done, literally by the skin of our teeth. One whole bay of the garage was filled with 200 some boxes, we didn't take any furniture. Made a few last runs to Target, Costco, etc and did a major stock up on things that we thought would be good to have and much cheaper or not accessible in Norway. In hind site, knowing how much room was still left in the container, I wish we would have shopped for that much more. But that would have also required time and money. And so, everything was organized and ready to go--Saturday morning, three of our strongest and nicest male friends showed up and the four men had the trailer packed and loaded in under two hours. Reality set in as the truck driver pulled the container down our street and aside from suitcases full of clothes, I watched our lives drive away, hoping things would safely end up in Bergen in a matter of weeks and not in Cape Town, South Africa. (That's a story for another time)
