Fishing and Campfires

One weekend we spent two days trying to catch fish, but came up empty handed both times.  On Saturday we met up with a group of friends for a walk to a lake on the island where we live.  The forest leading up to the lake was lovely, the company and conversation fantastic, and even without fish, there was plenty to grill--hot dogs and S'mores. (which probably went over better than fish anyway). John's mom was staying with us that weekend and came along to watch the kids fish.  She seemed to REALLY enjoy herself, was happy to be out in the woods, which is something she said she hadn't done in years, and kept up with all of us a the walk.  She is doing just fine for someone in their 80s, so glad she came!  The next day we drove out to Herdla, the furthest point of our island, hoping to have better luck there.  No fish, but still fun.
