Mid-September came the wonderful news that there was a spot for Karsten at the Barnehage 2 minutes walk from our house. Almost everything about this solution was better--no more driving to the end of the island, a bigger, newer, nicer school, private vs. public (which in this case was a good thing), going to school with friends that he will go to elementary school with, and the list goes on. The down side to this news was that he would miss his friends and teachers on Romsøy and I think we would both miss the location and these views.
