Our friend Rylie celebrated her birthday at a local skating rink. Those places always bring back so many memories--they all look, sound and smell the same as they did in the 80s. Our kids had never been on skates before and were hesitant about going on the slippery floor, they spent a lot of time on the carpet and got comfortable there first. The other help were these clever PVC pipe walkers with tennis balls on the ends that someone came up with to support little ones, genius! Karsten was going through a phase where he wanted to wear costumes wherever we went. This had nothing to do with Halloween, but he was insistent that Thor wanted to skate that day.
