Sopot, Poland--Who Knew?!

My dear friend, Anne Marie loves to travel and thought it would be a good idea to do a girl's weekend away.  My qualifications were that it had to be relatively inexpensive and accessible in a short time period.  No extravagant trips to Italy this time. Anne Marie suggested we go to Poland-- it is a quick flight from Norway, very reasonable and we good enjoy good food and spa treatments for a handful of days--sans husbands and kids.  At first I thought it didn't sound like a "great place to get away", I guess I equate Poland with cold, eastern European, Russian regime.  Much to my surprise it was awesome!  Sopot sits right on the Baltic Sea, there was a pretty beach area, plenty of places to walk for shopping and great restaurants, and we took advantage of a different spa treatment at our hotel each day.  It was just what we both needed.  So nice to laugh and connect with a great friend. And so grateful for a hubby that held down the fort and appreciated that this Mamma needed some time for herself.  Must do this more often!
