Here are some of the highlights from Ava's birthday party. We had it at our home the weekend before her birthday. Twelve of her friends came for pizza, face painting, a jumpy castle, and cake & ice cream. The party was surprisingly low key, all the children jumped their hearts out and remained out in the yard most of the time. All the moms had a chance to socialize and the token few dads hung inside with John and oversaw the food and beverages. It was a really great day filled with great people. We often wish we were closer to family and of course would have loved to have them be a part of the celebration. However, we are continually reminded of how blessed our lives are with such great friends. Both Ava and I were especially glad for some special visitors that drove all the way from Charlotte to be there for the day. My dear friend, Claire and her twin girls, Audrey and Chloe spent the weekend, making it extra special. I think Ava had a fantastic time and woke from her nap that day asking, "Where are all my friends, don't they want to come jump with me in my castle?"

darling pictures, what a cake! Did you make that? What a PARTY! Looks pretty wonderful to me.
Looks like it was a wonderful birthday party for Ava, and lots of fun for all. The cake was a masterpiece! I still think you should moonlight as a party planner -- you definitely have a gift for that!
Love & hugs,
Mom/Nana
