Anna Ruby Falls

While my parents were here over the holidays we spent one day in Helen, GA--which is a quaint little mountain town about an hour north of here. It is a bit cheesy and a bit touristy, but mostly cute. We walked up to this lovely double waterfall called, Anna Ruby Falls. It was a glorious day; blue skies, warm weather, more like spring than the beginning of January. You can see Ava's desire for Independence in these pictures. She wants to do everything herself and I think the one picture is especially appropriate--"Warning Danger Area". We need this sign near here most days lately, she is our little dare devil. Karsten was much more compliant to stay in the stroller and we didn't have to worry about losing him to the falls. Luckily we came down with both children in tact.

That was such a beautiful place, and we really enjoyed the outing that day, and all of our visist with you, Ava & Karsten, and John's parents. It was a very special time for all of us to be together. Hopefully when John comes home in Feb., the 4 of you will be able to enjoy more "quiet", less hectic family time together! (By the way, I'm sure that Ava's independence will be a very positive quality, as she grows up...it's just a bit challenging these days, especially if she is determined to do something that might not be safe!

Love & hugs to all,
Mom/Nana
