John has been in Norway for five months now, that is almost impossible to believe. Time passes quickly, in some ways too quickly. He has been away from us for nearly half of Karsten's life. I can't begin to imagine how difficult it is to be apart from the children (and me, too.) After loosing his job in September he vowed to do everything he could for our family--if that meant taking a job in another country, then that is what he was willing to do. And so, we have made it work with a week long visit every six weeks and lots of time on the phone and Skype, and time has passed. In the mean time we have continued to pray earnestly that things would work out to bring us back together, wherever that may be. Finally this week, came the answer we thought we'd been waiting for. John received a job offer in Atlanta with Sun Trust Bank, soon he would be home and life would resume in the South.
He was worried to let his company in Norway know that he would be resigning. Our greatest hope was that they'd understand and he could leave on good terms. Turns out, not only do they completely understand the situation--this news has made them aware of what a valuable asset he is to the company and how much they do not want to lose him. And so, yesterday his boss asked what they would need to do to keep him in Norway? This was not what we were expecting. John spoke with the owners of the company today and they want to see if they can come up with a solution to keep him on board and working from the US.
When it rains it pours-- we feel so blessed to have a job, period. It turns out that everything happens for a reason and that when you work hard and are faithful, things just may work out. And so now, we will see what happens from here. John is due to come home on Sunday and stay for the week of Easter. In the next few days a final decision will need to be made, it will be interesting to see how this all plays out. We will keep you posted!

Praying for you guys...
To have the possibility of two job offers,(& needing to make the right choice!) is certainly an answer to many prayers for you, and a definite blessing. We are praying for God's guidance and discernment, and good decisions by everyone involved. Thinking of you,
with much love,
Mom & Dad
