We have been working diligently with Ava on sharing. Unfortunately, her interpretation of the word share means--everything belongs to me. She is continually taking whatever Karsten has and then very sweetly tilts her head to the side and says, "share?" At this point he doesn't seem to mind either way, but eventually he will and she needs to understand that sharing goes both ways. This afternoon Ava once again took the toy Karsten was looking at, only this time quickly went and got one of her baby dolls- placed it on his lap and said, "share Karsten." It's working!! He was thrilled to get the baby and she actually let him play with it for some time. Perseverance can pay off--at least this one time and while he still is immobile and indifferent.Friday, August 08, 2008
What It Means to Share

Very sweet! Karsten looks smug that he got to play with Ava's baby doll. Maybe he will just continue to be easy-going and laid-back, and will just go along with his big sister...we hope. I can't get over how BIG and grown up Karsten looks -- more like he is 10 months rather than just 5 months.
Love & hugs to all,
Mom/Nana
P.S. - You're doing a good job at "sharing" your blog space so that both Ava & Karsten get equal time :)
adorable.
