This was the second year we attempted to make this awesomely delicious Yule Log Cake, for some reason we didn't make it the year before when all of our families were here for the holidays, I guess we were too busy with other things. This Christmas after spending the entire day at home and enjoying the company of our little family we headed to our dear friends, The Smalleys for dinner. They are both from Alaska and so their "traditional dinner" is steak and King Crab sent down from the north. We were more than happy to get in on that tradition. It was a wonderful night filled with great food, Scandinavian Liquor, laughs, family, friends, kids playing with toys, grown-ups playing games, and all around good fun. We are so very blessed to have amazing friendships in our lives that double for family when we are away from our own. Unfortunately, we didn't take any pictures with the Smalleys that night, but we did get one of the cake!
