The beginning of February Ava started ballet class for 3 and 4 year olds. She goes Saturday morning for an hour and LOVES it. A handful of beautiful little girls in pink leotards and ballet shoes is one of my new favorite sites, it is just so very cute! Her teacher is Miss Miranda and Ava thinks she is the bee's knees--she is long and lovely and quite feminine, all things Ava would like to be, I think. She will have a performance with costumes in the Spring and is already practicing regularly for it. She stands on the hearth of the fireplace and asks everyone to watch her show and that it is specifically, "for girls and not boys"--so Karsten has to merely be an obsever and not a participant, which he is saddened by.

So glad that Ava is enjoying her ballet classes! I'm sure she looks adorable. Karsten could be a dancer too -- tell Ava there are boys who also do ballet. Maybe next year you will have to take Ava to see the Nutcracker ballet -- lots of boys in that.
