Ava and I went with our friends, Suzy and Emily to the zoo today--and a great time was had by all. This was Ava's first trip to a zoo, she is fascinted with animals, so I assumed it would go over well with her. The animal exhibits themselves were good, unfortunately a lot of the animals are so far back or really hiding in their natural habitat environments, that it was difficult for us(primarily Ava) to see them. There were a few indoor viewing areas where the animals were right up at the window- the gorilla and her baby was a great one for Ava to see up close and personal. But by far the hit of the day was the petting zoo. Filled with the sweetest goats and sheep- Ava was thrilled that she could walk around and touch their soft fur. She snuggled up to some of the sheep like they were stuffed animals, it was awfully cute. Mamma was exhausted after walking around all morning- 36+ weeks pregnant and a long zoo trip will take it out of you. I suppose I need to start being a little careful about getting too far from home, just in case our 'little man' decides he is going to show up early. Luckily there were no deliveries at the zoo today, at least not by this animal.

It looks like Ava enjoyed the animals and wasn't timid at all. Adorable pictures...she could be a little farm girl. Maybe she'll want to be in 4-H and raise goats or pigs or rabbits. Do you remember when we used to visit the County Fair and you kids always wanted to buy a lop-eared rabbit for a pet? That would have made our dog, Barney crazy. Looks like you had nice weather for the zoo.
Love & hugs,
Mom
