Lake Michigan--CHICAGO

Building sandcastles with buddy, Ben

Cousins Maggie and Ellie

Over the weekend of the 4th of July we took a road trip north to Chicago for a family reunion. It was a great several days filled with food, family, and fun. My mom is one of six--and when everyone gets together it is usually about 40+ of us. Many in that group are loud and outgoing so it can be intimidating for those that are not, but it is mostly just fantastic. One of our first days in town we headed to Lake Michigan and spent the morning at Foster Beach. The kids loved it and reinforced that we need to take more beach vacations down here in the south. It is so easy to plop down in the sand and transition from warm sand to cool water and back again.

Summer days at Foster Beach were always great for our family growing up, and best of all, it was free! Did you tell Ava & Karsten that Nana's family used to come to that beach every weekend?

Love,
Mom
