Driving home from Chicago we spent one night in Nashville. Both John and I love this town-- it is surrounded by beautiful areas in TN, has a cool small downtown feel, a beautiful river walk area, and lots of good music. That night we walked around, strolled down by the water, and then ate dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. The next morning we only had a short 3 and 1/2 hour drive home, we were all happy to be back.

We've never been to Nashville -- looks like that was a lovely place to stop enroute home. Hopefully sometime in the future we can still plan a family trip to the Smoky Mountains area -- would be fun to do that together too.
