We skipped the mall and the over-priced Santa this year, opting to see "him" at an event at our church. Collin, the gentleman dressed up was not nearly as authentic as the professional ones, complete with real beard and fancy backdrop. But my kids don't notice the difference at this point and Ava was just as happy to have her request for a toy car heard with by a rented costume Claus.

Karsten looks rather dubious...maybe he isn't smiling because he doesn't have a cookie! I'm surprised that Ava would agree to sit on Santa's lap, but she is happy because she got a cookie! (So I am hopeful that when we visit maybe Ava will be agreeable to sitting on Nana's lap now also.)
