We went for an ultrasound today-- to see the baby in a more true to life way. Unfortunately, the pictures did not turn out as clear as we had hoped. It seems that me having less amniotic fluid and the baby not wanting to cooperate (being head down and turned inward) it was difficult to get a good image. We did this same type of ultrasound prior to Ava and we could see her so clearly, it was really amazing. Also, John was able to enjoy the experience more last time. He could just sit and watch and really take it all in. This round we took Ava with us, thinking she would be excited to see the baby. She was more interested in getting into everything, running around the office, and trying to pull various cords. Things were a little more busy this time around--probably a good indicator of how our lives will be very shortly. The other surprise came with the technician not being able to get a good view of the gender. When our doctor checked at 20 weeks, she said she was 97% sure it was a girl. Today, he kept saying he couldn't differentiate between the umbilical cord and a boy part. He wasn't willing to guess and told us to plan on either having a girl OR a boy. I could have figured that out...however, we have really gotten into our heads that we will have sisters. So a boy would be quite the surprise. For the sake of "sticking with the plan", we'll say 97% are good odds and that our doctor was right. Time will tell.

Are you doing a "pool"? My guess is that it's a girl, and looks to me like this baby has Julie's cute little nose. Wonder if this baby will be as big as Ava was? Maybe better stick with yellow and green, and not get carried away with pink until baby arrives :)
Jay wants you to know that he thinks either way you should be relieved that you're not having a monkey.
No one wants a furry primate baby.
This is so exciting! I wonder who this little person will be!?!
