Yard Mess

Before, a healthy 70 foot tree

After, nothing more than very expensive stump

Ground settling behind our new retaining wall

A month ago now we had terribly flooding in Atlanta and our hillside took a big hit as a result of it. Water was flowing down the left hand side a the rate of a small river and caused a fair amount of the hill to erode from the backyard to the front. We spent hours digging trenches and sand bagging to keep the water from coming into the house. We also had to have one of our huge trees removed because all the roots had been exposed. So lots of mess, money, and a month later--things still are not put back together. We have been trying to get someone else to take responsibility for the hillside beyond our property that was not grated correctly to accommodate for water flow. Countless phone calls and visits from county, various landscape companies, the builder, home owner's association, etc. we have made little progress. But I am going to keep at it and eventually we will have to give in and just take the cost ourselves. Bummer.

We know this has been a nightmare for you...and very stressful and aggravating trying to get resolution for the damages! I hope with your perseverance, that there will be some satisfaction in reimbursement, and correcting the issue. The wooded hill behind your house was so pretty, but obviously very poorly designed when the house was built!
