4th of July Festivities

We had a fun filled Fourth this year--travelled about a half hour north to the town of Braselton, for their town parade. It was small and quick, but cute and the kids loved it. Afterward we walked over to their park where there was pony rides, games, and various vendors. You know you are in GA when the booths include: snow cones, popcorn, funnel cakes, and rifles. No joke-- right next to the funnel cakes there were all the guns. That's a little scary, folks down here believe in the right to bear arms. ugh. That evening we went to the Gwinnett Braves game, which is the local minor league team that has a stadium 10 minutes from our house. We met up with a bunch of friends and all set up blankets on the "burm" which are cheap tickets on the hillside and had a great evening! It started out a little warm, but once the sun went down it was perfect. It was John and the kids first baseball game, we didn't really watch much of the game. But enjoyed some of the other things there was to do- jumpy castles and slides, airbrush face painting, playing in the sprinklers, hotdogs, ice cream, and cotton candy. With all the sugar and excitement the kids easily made it to the nine o'clock hour and we were able to stay for a fabulous fireworks display. Fun times had by all-- Happy Fourth of July!

Great pictures! I love Karsten in his baseball cap...looks like such a big boy! I think you will need to buy Ava her own pony, the way she loves to ride. And by the way...it's the right to "BEAR" arms. (BARE arms is when you when you go sleeveless -- haha). Hometown 4th of July celebrations are fun, aren't they?

Love & hugs to all,
Mom/Nana

Karsten is the most easy going looking person I have ever seen. I want to hang out with him.
