Future Contractor

By the time this recession ends and new home construction is once again on the rise, our little man will be ready to build. Uncle Phil and Aunt Tracie sent him a very cute dump truck filled with blocks for his birthday. He loves it-- it is just the right size and although he has yet to master actually stacking the blocks together, he is very good at dumping them out and then picking them up one by one and returning them to the back. He also makes a very cute revving noise when he drives it. It has been interesting for me to see how even at this early age boys and girls are instinctually drawn to different things, I don't know that Ava would have been into cars and trucks the way he is. But then again, Karsten loves baby dolls, necklaces & bracelets, and the play kitchen just as much. So I guess he will be a man who is perfectly well rounded--able to build, whip up a meal, and accessorize. Sounds a little like an Uncle Phil I know.

Isn't it interesting that Karsten knew how to make an engine sound for the dump truck. He's working on good hand-eye coordination with emptying the blocks and putting them back in the truck. Does Ava want to play with his truck too? Karsten will probably want to imitate whatever Ava is playing with for the next several years.

Love & hugs to all,
Mom/Nana
