Ava dressed up as a Ladybug for Halloween this year- she loved her outfit and was very excited to put it on and look in the mirror. She thought that she was so funny and would shake her head to make the antennae wiggle. John carved his first Jack O'Lantern, as they don't really celebrate Halloween in Norway-so this was not a tradition he grew up with. He did a great job and is eager to try a much more intricate design next year. Last night was a beautiful Fall evening, so we sat outside with one of our neighbors and handed out candy to all the little tricker treaters in our neighborhood, we thought Ava was a little young to go house to house this year. She enjoyed seeing all the kids and helped passing out candy as well. Mostly she liked sitting in the grass and chewing the wrapper of a piece of candy until she broke through to the sweet treat inside--"num, num!" (as Ava would put it.)

What a cute little ladybug, and Ava looks like she really enjoyed Halloween. Next year she will be ready for trick or treating. That will be another new experience for John.
Wow...I don't think I've ever seen a child's face filled with so much happiness and glee while holding a piece of candy. She is one beautiful bug.
