We had a family outing to the Hillcrest Apple Orchard in Ellijay, GA today. It is John and my hope to start some traditions with our children that we can do each year as a family. We are realizing that there are some things that will likely be more fun as Ava gets older...right now it is limiting what a one year old can actually do. For example, the apple orchard had a cow milking station, petting zoo, go kart rides, etc. All things that looked like a grand time if you are three-five, but not necessarily appropriate for a crawling toddler. So, we did what we could and enjoyed a day out in the beautiful Autumn weather. We picked apples, bought apple butter and had cider. Sometime this week we'll bake a pie or some other treat with the fruits of our labor and look forward to the days to come when our little girl will be running through the apple fields and milking a cow.

That looks cute! I'm sad there are no 'Dorthy on a stake' pictures but that last one is pretty darn cute.
Looks like you had a fun outing! And the apples look yummy too. You seem to be making good use of the backpack for Ava. Are you going to take her to a pumpkin patch before Halloween??
