So it all worked out in the end after all. As I said in our last blog, we were due to leave Atlanta on the 26th. Then the morning of the 23rd, I received a phone call from my mom's close friend who lives here in Atlanta. She had heard about our plans being cancelled and got to work trying to find a way for us to get to CO by the 24th. Somehow she located two of the only tickets remaining after the storm- we drove to the airport the evening of the 23rd and arrived in Colorado a few hours later. The morning of Christmas Eve we had Ava baptized at Missie's church in Monument. It was a beautiful service- all of our family was there and Missie wrote a song dedicated to Ava.We were so glad to be with our family for Christmas and disappointed when our trip was shortened by two days on the other end. After the massive snow storm that kept us from our original plans, Denver was to receive another major blizzard the evening of the 29th. So, once again we altered our travel plans and arranged to change our tickets and fly out two days early. Our flight was delayed 2+hours and after sitting on the runway and de-icing station for another hour we were happy to finally take off. It made for a late night, arriving back in Atlanta around 12:30am, but we were relieved to be home!
I will post Christmas pictures later today...
