DIA CLOSES

The current scene at DIA is frustrating to thousands of people...three of which are sitting in Georgia-wanting so badly to fly into that mess, rather than leave it. We were supposed to head to CO today for Christmas. Last night after printing out our boarding passes and finishing last minute packing, we checked for delays, only to find out that our flight had been cancelled and we weren't going to make it to Colorado in time for Christmas. To say it is disappointing is an understatement. We are so sad to not be with our family for Ava's first Christmas. She was supposed to be baptized on Christmas Eve morning and now all of that has changed. Darn it for Mother Nature! After countless hours on the phone and internet trying to find another alternative, the soonest we will be able to get out there is the 26th-so Christmas will have to come a little late this year and Ava will be baptized the following week. We have to be grateful that everyone is safe, that we aren't stuck somewhere trying to sleep on the floor, and that although this is not the plan...we will have a quiet Christmas in our new home with our new baby. We have SO MUCH to be thankful for.
