This week will conclude our time in Charlotte. John came home for the weekend and we have spent days organizing, sorting, and disposing-the packers come today to prepare for the move tomorrow. I have never had (in all our moves) someone to pack up our things. I am terribly excited to not have that feat ahead of me.
We take a weekly picture of Ava to capture how she is growing and changing-here is the one from this past week. On Thanksgiving she was 11 weeks old. You can see from her gooey smile what a happy baby she is. We have so much to be thankful for!
Despite Ava's incredibly chipper disposition, her Mama is not as light hearted these days. Yesterday it hit me that this will be a hard move. We are sad to leave this place and the connections and friendships we have made here. Although we will do our best to stay in touch, it is just not the same once you leave a place. Everyone's life resumes and you become occupied with what is in front of you at the time. Atlanta is not so far from Charlotte-but it is far enough to eliminate the possibility for dinner with friends, or dropping by to spend time at someone's house on a whim. I try to remain optimistic; knowing that this will be such a good thing for all of us. Hopefully we will be as blessed with new people in our lives a little further south.
