Last Day in Norway

Family photo on Svanhild's deck--we'll miss that view.

Monika and Leon

The last few days in Bergen we were happy to meet up with extended family from Oslo-- Tante Mia, Monika, Leon and Felix came to town. I've connected with them through Facebook, but had yet to meet in person. It was lovely to spend time together, to get to know this "virtual" connection face to face and for Farfar to spend time with his sister. The pictures from this day would be our last in Bergen. Early the next morning it was time to head home. What a a great holiday we had--time that would not soon be forgotten. There was lots of laughter, lots of tears, memories made, and a wonderful visit. We are especially grateful that we all had this time with Farfar--we had no way of knowing how quickly his time would come to an end. Less than a month from this visit, he would be gone.

I'm sure everyone was glad that you could also spend time with John's relatives whom you met for the first time. It must have been a poignant visit for John's father and his sister. As you said, special memories for everyone, and that was a blessing.

Love,
Mom
