Don't let the neighbors see that hose

It has been HOT here in Atlanta, the only real reprieve is swimming. So we have spent several days at the big pool in our neighborhood. Unfortunately that requires a lot to get two kids together to make the trip--Karsten is left in the shade in his car seat; as he was not keen on the water temperature when I tried taking him in the pool and it is nearly impossible to do two little ones in my arms. So, the big pool is more work than it is worth sometimes. Our alternative has been a little blow up pool in the backyard, which requires little to no preparations. Ava can be in our yard naked, which is one of her favorite ways to be. Karsten can sleep right inside, where I can keep a close eye, but he doesn't have to be sitting in the heat while his sister has fun. It is a win-win situation. The only downfall is that Ava is OBSESSED with the hose, as is Sam. The two of them are quite funny to watch together. She wants the water to run so they can play with it. In the midst of a drought, filling the pool is still okay- I scoop out the water with a bucket when we are through and water plants. Running the water from the hose for extended amounts of time-- not so good. We hope none of the neighbors see us and report our consumption to the authorities.
