Ava perfected most everyone's name on this trip--we were constantly asking her, "who's that?" The only three she had some difficulty with, but created a few sweet nick names for were-- Howard, who she calls 'Water'. My dad, we had been calling Gamel Pappa (which is the Norwegian word for old, as to not to be confused with our Pappa) she shortened his name to 'Gam Gam' and my brother, Phil--is simply 'Uncle'. This trip really solidified who was who and hopefully that will carry over until our next visit. She was often too busy to be held by most people--she was happy to talk to them, but don't try picking her up. Karsten on the other hand was happy to be loved by anyone who was willing to hold him.

You got really cute pictures with Ava & Karsten & the Colo. relatives! And Ava even let Uncle Phil hold her -- which was rare! When you have a chance, I would love to have copies of these pictures. We sure were happy to be able to spend this time with you, and especially to be with Ava & Karsten! P.S. The Build A Bear pictures are cute too. That's quite the "operation", but as you said, Ava is probably a little young to really enjoy it. And I love the picture of Karsten with the puppy -- he is so precious! (Karsten, not the puppy!)
Miss you all...can't wait to see you in just one month in Chicago. That will be kind of a busy and hectic time...at least until after the wedding is over.
