Downtown "Bavaria"- Helen, GA
We are finding all of these places we never knew existed- this weekend we drove an hour north to a little mountain town(mountain being a realtive word- compared to CO, it is more like a little hilly town)named Helen, GA. It is called the "Bavaria of the South" and it was really cute. A little touristy and silly, but quaint non the less. We drove through town to Unicoi State Park where we went for a lovely hike aorund the lake and then returned to town for a stroll and to share a good German lunch consisting of a Rueben sandwich,Wienerschnitzel, good beer, and Sacher Torte for dessert. Ava especially liked the cake! That evening we joined some friends at a local park here in Suwanee for the free summer concert series-Saturday the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra was playing. It was beautiful weather, a wonderful evening, nice music, and good to know that Ava is getting some cultural exposure at an early age.
