This year Ava and Karsten dressed as the Sesame Street characters, Elmo and Zoe. It was probably one of the last times I will get away with putting them in matching costumes. Ava already has a very opinionated way about her and although she was the one who originally wanted to be Zoe, it was only after I spent a few days making her costume that she decided she'd rather just be a princess. I convinced her otherwise and my two little monsters headed out. On Friday night our church does a Trunk or Treat, where the kids go around the parking lot and get candy from the back of decorated cars. It was rainy and cold that night, so we didn't last very long at that. On the actual night of Halloween, we continued our tradition of meeting up with some of our best friends and going trick or treating in their neighborhood. Ava and Gabe were adorable, holding hands a good amount of the time. Again, it was a little rainy, a little cold, and the kids quickly grew tired of walking. But really, how much candy do you need when you're a toddler? Ava woke up this morning requesting that we go out again tonight. She will quickly learn, that like most holidays--there is a lot of build up, preparation, and hoopla; all for it to be over in a matter of hours. Until next year... Hope you had a Happy Halloween!

Ava & Karsten looked adorable in their costumes! Looks like they had fun! I'm smiling at reading that Ava is "opinionated"...no idea where she would get that from?? Maybe next year Ava will be a princess.
Love & hugs to all,
Mom/Nana
