A view from the womb

On Thursday, July 13th we had an appointment at The Prenatal Picture- an ultrasound place that specializes in pretty pictures vs. diagnostic (doctor type) ultrasounds. It was very exciting to see our little girl, she looks like a real person instead of a grey image that is hard to identify what exactly you are seeing. I think it was an especially good experience for John. Up until now the whole thing has been somewhat foreign to him. It seems every time she is really active and kicking, I put his hand on my belly and she stops. He is beginning to not believe me. Likewise, the only appointment he has been able to attend, due to his crazy travel schedule, was in early April...so a lot has changed since then. The advancements in technology are hard to comprehend at times. These still photos give you an idea what she looks like... it was even more fascinating to watch during the procedure-as she moved around, opened and closed her eyes, and reacted with funny faces. Whether it was in response to a bad taste of fluid that caused a crinkled nose or a smile responding to something good. All in all it was simply amazing!
